Why fire your best recruiting <position> coach?

OK got it.

So BJ is starting from scratch. Is that a good idea?

Probably based on his offense. If you study it a little, you will see that it is a precision, disciplined offense that depends critically on timing between the QB and receivers much more so than others that just look similar. So, I do think he wanted coaches who could teach/coach in that way of building the offense. As far as good recruiters can recruit anywhere, I am not sure I disagree with this. It is like saying "a salesman can sell his product". A good Ford salesman can probably be a good Chevy salesman.

Quite frankly I don't think he wanted T and he just made the offer because of the question at his press conference.
I think BJ sabotaged the T hire.

So you're saying Tee was covering for CBJ when Tee gave his reasons for not accepting the job?

You know what I say?

Do more with more.

BJ was given almost a blank check.

I say to BJ>>>>>>>> CEO it man. That's why you are making 3Mil, you got the money buy the best, open your eyes, wake up.

Excellent recruiting does not guarantee succes, just look at Texas.
Mediocre recruiting does not guarantee failure, just look at Boise State.

I am sure I can find more examples like the ones above if I take the time. Just chill man, nothing you say will change the fact that Butch Jones is our coach.:hi:

well yea and hey i'm on T's side here. T would have came if BJ didn't basically make it a hell job.

IMO BJ made it easy for T to accept a 200,000$ raise

What is done is done. Our fate is now in butch's hands. So enjoy the ride...sing aloud

If you happy and you know it clap your hands!
If you happy any you know stomp your feet!

I don't think so.

I think BJ is open to fan wants, in a way. At least he publicly axknowledges them...

BJ fired Hinshaw and I ask wtf?

Maybe because he is part of the losers attitude thats been around this program since Dooley was hired?

Its not like Hinshaw did anything spectacular while he was here anyway. Dooley and his crew did an average to good job of recruiting. We can do better. Losinig Hinshaw should be the last of anybodys worries. Your looking real hard for something to b*tch about if this is all you come up with.

Oh no, he will find plenty of things to complain about, and it won't matter one bit.:hi:

You can be on Tees side but you have no proof that BJ didnt do everything to get Tee here. Maybe Tee didnt want to be here ? Maybe Tee was playing it up to get a raise ? I think it would of been a plus to have Tee but I dont think Tn will have to shut the football program down because Tee didnt come.

When did I say that he is all knowing?

We will have a better idea about him after his first season as a Tennessee coach.

We have to wait until then to judge him fairly.

If he sucks, I will join you in the bashing.:hi:

Well I'm worried as sheet about recruiting.

Complaints are for after you get your service.

This is looking ahead.

Big difference men,

How does anyone really know he was the best recruiter? Seems like if he were, other schools would be beating down his door. I appreciate his work for UT, but I think CBJ can and will upgrade his position.

Well that is what i heard.

And the thing is to me I would want somebody that had been recruiting to UT for the last few years...especially if he was our recruiting coordinator and he was a good position coach and now we don't got one

I neither played nor coached football at any level, so I don't have the answers. For all of you who complain about every little move or (in your mind) misstep that Coach Jones makes, how about posting your coaching resume in this forum so we can see what your qualifications are. Go ahead; I'll even pay for extra bandwidth if necessary.
You had better have a lot of money to pay for bandwidth for all the coaches on this forum.

Long time, no see Keith. How are things?

I heard that Hinshaw still wants to be in Knoxville and told Jones he'd be willing to come back if Jones doesn't get who he wants.
