Here's a little more info. Later tonight I will look more in depth. As you can tell I am a numbers guy.
Last year in our losses our opponents shot these % for the game.

Not exactly sure what that says but thats alot of losses with very low FG % given up IMO
That's an average of 44% fg in our losses, that's horrible defense by Martin's standards. He wants opponents to shoot under 40% from the field, that's the goal he sets.
In game we hold our opponents to under 40% shooting we are 22-5.
From looking at the Kenpom numbers, it appears to be non-conclusive on tempo. Martin loses games when possessions are in the 50s, and he wins the same amount it looks like. Conversely, he wins some games with 70+ possessions, and loses the same amount.
Pretty much what I've been saying...W/L are typically more directly related to how we play defense than offense .
What about 65-70??? 60-65???
We lost as many games under 40 as we did 50 and over. Seems like a fairly irrelevant stat to me
65 possessions was what I am asking
Okay, so the average amount of possessions in the NCAA in 2012 and 2013 was roughly 66. I left out OT games because they didn't fit.
In games of 66 or less posessions:
2012- 8 win; 5 losses.
2013- 17 wins; 8 losses.
Total- 25 wins; 12 losses.
In games of more than 66 possessions:
2012- 9 wins; 7 losses.
2013- 3 wins; 5 losses.
Total- 12 wins; 12 losses.

Disagree.
Those % I posted with last year losses here is our fg% for those same games.

Clearly our offense was awful in those loses
You're further proving my point, that's exactly what I said. That our defense playing well has more impact than our offense playing well.
Can you access it??
I'll do a quick calculation:
2012 Games with 59 or fewer possessions:
1 win-2 losses.
2013 Games with 59 or fewer possessions:
3 wins-4 losses.
2012 games 70 or more possessions:
4 wins- 3 losses.
2013 games with 70 or more possessions:
1 win- 3 losses.
Therefore, 2012 games in 60-69 possessions:
14-10.
2013 games in 60-69 possessions:
16-6.
