Will Tennessee ever return to national contender status?

Wrong. Those of us who were around Pat know that the first signs of her dementia came in the 2010-11 season. BTW, the Lady Vols lost in the first round of the 2009 NCAA tournament, the year after Candace Parker left.
Didn't Pat have a fast acting kind. Not disagree on 2010 signs just saying like cancer Summit had a fast acting dementia do not know how many get replug lar dementia nighter is a good news from the doctor.

Which is why it is said here that Holly should get an * for coaching Summitt’s final years with her as a shell of herself. You didn’t have to be around Pat, the camera showed it.

Correction, Rivals had him at a 3*. As I stated, not highly recruited with offers from Fresno St as his only other visit.
For some reason I thought he chose us over UCLA. BTW, Patterson, who was from UCLA, and Asumnu absolutely thrived in the press - fast break style

Absolutely…Asumnu was an athlete. Dane Bradshaw like many on the girls team was limited athletically verses the competition. His best attribute was he knew how to play relentless and create turnovers and chip in a few points.

More revisionist history to fit your agenda....television diagnosis vs. personal contact?! SMH

The biggest problem in 2009 was Candace Parker wasn't there...even Pat needed superstar talent to win most of her NC's.

You believe you’re only one to interact with Pat during that time? Pretty narcissist stance, especially after your private company example yesterday for the casual fan but somehow you got the insider trading. Point was watching a game and seeing how often Holly and Dean explaining what is going on with confusion on her face.

The earliest I think you can even speculate CPS was hindered by that disease was the 2010-2011 season. A Washington Post story ran that she went to the Mayo clinic in May 2011 and that once in the 2010-2011 season "she drew a blank on what offensive set to call in the heat of a game." So prior to that season there is no evidence that the disease affected her coaching at all. The shock of it all was how fast it progressed. Even after she was officially diagnosed, CPS thought she might be able to coach 3 more seasons with assistance from Holly.

Earlvolfan is closely connected, and I've never once seen him misspeak on anything here. People just want to follow agendas rather than believe the people who actually have insider knowledge.

What agenda is that? The term gets tossed around without explanation. Truthfully haven’t seen any inside knowledge established here. A lot of after the fact or opinions.

Anyone can post, “it’s not my place to say” after the fact. So again, haven’t seen any insight to things before they happen. Must of missed the recruits being silent commits and “discipline” issues that were glazed over in the press.

I just want to say there is no hate and please forgive me if there has been a similar thread posted. This is just a conversation, but I am concerned that Tennessee will never be amongst the elites again. I remember there were times I couldn't wait to get in front of the big screen in my house to watch the Lady Vols play, to see the new recruits and what they will bring to the team or will the team make a deep post season run possibly finally getting to the Final Four. These last five or more years have been hard to watch. It's like Tennessee never shows up in the big games or rarely win games that they aren't the favorites. The Sweet 16 has become the new norm. Third place in the conference has been accepted as good. There has been loaded rosters during these times but the play on the court has been just good and not great. My expectations have dropped significantly. I don't watch their games anymore. I only check score tracker when I know they are playing because it has become hard to watch a team play with little passion and sloppy basketball. I understand NIL, but Tennessee's recruiting wasn't great prior to NIL. The coaching, the offensive and defensive schemes makes you just shake your head. As a fan base, do you all think Tennessee will ever be amongst the elites again and considered a national contender?
Afraid Not

He cares….Danny to me seems like he does not like to be embarrassed, especially with the program that set the standard for the women’s sport. He’s a business man and will let it play out.
Seems like it has already played out

STOP SCHEDULING OVER OUR HEADS. It’s a new age and Kim Mulkey figured that out. When u rely on portal girls to learn a new system new habits new teammates… you HAVE to give them time to integrate.
I hate it but we need to start playing the Louisiana School of the Blind too. And maybe schedule 2 ranked games. The consistency just isn’t there.

WE ARE NUMBER ONE IN EVERY OPPONENT METRIC. Our BPI is strong which is good but our low NET tells us that this team just isn’t clicking.

If we want a winning record we need to start playing all in state schools only

I'm watching Mich vs Oh St right now on Fox. Appears to be a significant difference in quality of players compared to Lady Vols? Speed, effort, other.
Do we just not have a very good team?
Oh St. down 9.

Will Tennessee ever return to national contender status?

No Not anytime soon.
With the right hire, would still be 3-4 years away!!
