Wiseman ineligible

Basilio has been making a pretty good argument to set Wiseman free. The NCAA just let some Ohio State football player that took money have his eligibility back. The NCAA looks the other way for Bill Self, Roy, Duke, LSU, Auburn, and others and hammers guys like Bruce and Donnie.
This is no longer about the money or Wiseman just like Bruce's issue was not having the barbeque. This is about Memphis not following the rules. If you don't follow the rules and have a history of not following the rules the NCAA is going to drop the hammer on you.

Wiseman's lawyers feeling so confident they're about to settle. Wonder how many games he'll get.

This is ultimately gonna spare Memphis's future, though.

I have read message boards from North Carolina, Duke, Kentucky, Kansas. It is interesting that they, like basically the rest of the country, is supportive of Memphis and Wiseman's efforts but that we are so antagonistic.

Memphis really lives in our heads doesn't it?
I don’t read any Kentucky boards, but I call BS that they’re supportive of Wiseman or Memphis.

As I understand it, didn't Young take a loan from a family friend? That seems different than taking money from a high profile AAU and HS coach who also happens to be a prominent Memphis booster, and now, current coach. Additionally, Young and tOSU were forthcoming and cooperative.

The two situations don't seem exactly like for like.

Seems like a case of keeping your friends close and your enemies closer. Those schools are supportive because they likely know the hammer could come down on them at any moment, Kansas especially, and that if it does, a positive outcome for Memphis makes for a helpful precedent.

They are close to a settlement I hear. I don't know if my friend was serious or not, but said Wiseman's mom was ready to spill the beans on everyone if she gets on the stand.

This right here is exactly the reason I laugh when people say, screw the NCAA, universities should just be able to police themselves...yeah, we can all count on Memphis to do that! One of the most scandalous programs in college basketball is about to be given the green light to take their cheating to another level and people are applauding it. LSU and Memphis have just made it very clear, yeah we cheat, what are you gonna do about it, and it pi$$es me off! So if only Pearl had said screw you NCAA, I gave a kid a sandwich and I’ll sue you if you try to punish me, everything would’ve been peachy? But now that we have possibly the most straight forward coach in the NCAA, cheating is being accepted because it’s being done out in the open and not in some dark alley, like the old days. Unbelievable!
GBO!!

So does this kick the “free Uros” campaign into full gear? Do our blue chip signees have enough credits to finish high school? If so, hell, go ahead and get them on campus and suit them up. Maybe Bone would like to come back and finish his “eligibility?” The sky’s the limit now, let’s do whatever it takes to make this season a successful one, I’m sure we have some local judges and attorneys who support this program...
GBO!!

And then lie about violating said rules, especially when the NCAA has the goods on you, then you are screwed. We will see if new evidence came to light (e.g., no payments were made on the "loan") which incriminates Penny.

There is no new evidence. If you listen to clay travis he is an idiot on everything.
