ummmmmmmmmmm, actually yes. statistics very much prove points. If there's only one example of a certain subject, then it's not as valid. As more examples come up, a point becomes more valid. But give me time while i research this. But I promise, the vast, vast, vast majority of programs in D-1 would take what Pearl has done and put it in the bank. Now, if you're one of those that expect UT to become Duke, UNC, etc., you'll never be satisfied in life, ever. Rarely is anything, anybody does in the upper tier. Not basketball, not science, not anything.Does the number of examples provided really make a diffrence in the argument? I mean, 1,2......ect, what's the deal? Are you keeping a running tab here kicker?

No, I didn't choose that to support my argument. Somebody several pages back brought up those schools, so I ran with it. I guess everbody on here is correct! Pearl doesn't compare to Hall of Fame coaches. Shoot him now and fire him. Hell, lets bring back Houston and Peterson and lets try to pursue Billy G!!!! Pearl just doesn't cut it. LMFAO. I'm sorry if you're disappointed in two No. 2 seeds, a No. 1 ranking, a regular season conference title and two sweet 16s under Pearl's watch. In the previous 25 years, this school just made the sweet 16 twice. To me, that's progress not based on opinion. Those 3 examples are the ones you chose to support your argument. Then when they didn't, you disavow them.
How old are you. Are we debating with a 12 year old?

Huggins' 616–221 record (.736) is very high. But with any statistic, you must look at percentages to see their true worth to compare different periods of time!Unless they are points that conflict with your own right? So how about Huggs having a better record than Pearl?

Bruce Pearl currently ranks around 14th in terms of salary among basketball coaches across the country who appeared in the NCAA tournament. This according to 2008 numbers. So actually, they'll paying him not to make the final four, if money is your arguement! Are we not paying Bruce the kind of money a top tier coach who takes his teams to elite eights and final fours regularly?
If he gets the pay why can't we demand the results?

Pearl is 104-38 (.732) at UT. Of course he doesn't have as many wins as Huggins, but that's based on the simple fact he hasn't coached as long. Being .004 behind somebody doesn't leave much room to gripe about performance!
Clearly the trend here is working against you.Huggins' 616221 record (.736) is very high. But with any statistic, you must look at percentages to see their true worth to compare different periods of time!

...... I'm sorry if you're disappointed in two No. 2 seeds (High seeds usually do well in the tourney. This supports our point of view.) , a No. 1 ranking (I was excited for 46 hours.), a regular season conference title (tip of the hat to you Coach :hi: ) and two sweet 16s (uh, NO) under Pearl's watch. In the previous 25 years, this school just made the sweet 16 twice. To me, that's progress not based on opinion.
I couldn't give a flying you know what about what Pearl did at other schools. His performance at UT is very close to that of Huggins' career.Ummm... Pearl coached at UWM before Tennessee. Don't omit that in an attempt to make your argument stronger.

But for your satisfaction, Pearl overall is 189-76. or 71 percent.
