Please show me where any of us stated that Bruce Pearl should measure up to Hall of Fame standards
You are using the same tired strategy that the rest of your ilk uses. Blast us for stuff you are clearly wrong about, then make things up that you know damn well none of us said and hope it sticks long enough for MHF or one of the other sheep comes to your rescue. It's ridiculous.
There really is no reason for your cheap shots.
I have now developed a consensus on this board from those who like Bruce Pearl, those who dislike him, and those who hate him, that TN is not a top 15 basketball job.
We have top 15 pay, we have top 15 attendance, but we have no history and no players in the NBA, or star quality NBA players.
I have tried to engage in civil discussion and a few people now have done just that including Basketvolsfan, BPV and Hardwood fanatic. I do not know why you will not come on board.
I am attacked as a hater by some, and you call me a sheep.
Bruce Pearl needs to get to the Elite 8 this year for me to be happy. Bruce also needs to develop Smith and Chism so that both are drafted and if not he has really failed at player development barring some kind of injury to either man.
Bruce also consistently struggles in halfcourt offense and defense. I blame the assistant who was supposedly brought in to shore that up, but the ultimate responsibility rests with the H.C.
Not sure how that makes me a sheep.
By the way, I did watch both the Indiana Pitt game (until just now) and prior to that, the Vanderbilt beat down by Illinois.
It was the best shooting of the season for Illinois and some of it was contested, but that is not what that loss should be blamed on. Unless Ogilvy is hurt, he is one of the softest and most embarrassing talents in the SEC in quite a long time.
Jenkins started 0-6 but he showed at the end more of what he will show this year. I think he will end up unlike Scotty Hopson getting more aggressive as the season wears on his freshman year.
I do not think the war is over yet in terms of SEC strength, but these two wins OOC just went a long way towards destroying my argument that the Big 10 is inferior to the SEC.
I doubt you will see others admit they are wrong about Florida and Arizona, but to each his own.
