Wow!!shocked

Cooper already HAS visited Tennessee.

I was talking about Cooper visiting Georgia with Deshields a week ago and her visiting USC with Deshields this weekend. I know Cooper visited UT. I just didnt know if they visited last week together on the trip to UT.

Oh okay got it. i would like to know too.

A'ja is too slight to be a post player. She can shoot, she can drive, she can pass, she can push the ball in transition, and she will be a great weakside defender. She doesn't really play well with her back to the basket though, and she doesn't really defend those that do very well.

If Candace Parker can be a PF in the SEC with her frame, so can A'ja. Candace had the skills to be a wing, though, but Pat was smart enough to know that the 4 was the best position to take advantage of her athletic ability and skills, and the same is true for Wilson. Unfortunately, A'ja's perimeter skills or nowhere near the level of Parker, as she isn't a good ballhandler nor a good shooter for a wing player, although admittedly she is probably above average for a player of her size.

I just think her playing wing and truly flourishing there is a pipe dream, at least now.

I don't think they visited Tennessee together, and that may be a good thing since they visited UGA together and will visit SC together. Cooper probably doesn't need to visit Tennessee. She has been to UT by far more than any other school, and that isn't a coincidence. :)

Cooper has been to TENN several times. As far as I know, she did not make the trip with DD when she was here a few weeks ago.

We'll see. The product on the floor will determine that. Sure, USCe should be better in the coming years but then again, so should TENN. As for fan support, regardless of how good USCe possibly becomes, their fan support will never be that of what the Lady Vols have. Not trying to be harsh or offend just being real. On average, the Lady Vols bring in between 11,000-12,000 fans a game. On average. When it comes to fan support, you don't get better than TENN.

You have a valid point but you would not have the fan support without the success. It goes hand in hand. You would not average 12,000 a game if you were a .500 team for a couple of years. We (South Carolina) will easily do that with our fan base if we are winning. The wins and talent just wasn't there but now it's on the table and will not be ignored by South Carolina fans. This will not be a flash success story and it could turn into a Summit type run with Staley there. You never know...

I think Dawn will head to the WNBA to coach. I don't have facts to back that up. It's just a feeling. I got this feeling while watching her in the SEC tourney last year. This class coming in may delay that move but I think it will happen at some point.

You're right. South Carolina is not Georgia or LSU (although LSU is the most rabid fan base I have ever been around). If CDS continues with her successes, I think Colonial will be booming, and lots of fans in the seats do affect a recruit's perception of a university (recruiting). CPS worked tirelessly to promote WBB, not just UT WBB. I think CDS could very well compete. If she does, I just hope she does it with the same honor and class CPS always had.

So....fan base could influence DD to prefer UT over USC, but in the future that particular portion of the playing court could well be equalized.

The typical WNBA coaching salary is between $40-50,000. Dawn makes $350,000 now. I don't see it happening at all.

We will never be what we were, at one time the LADY VOLS was Americas team, now you know who it is till he goes we will be looking up.

excuse me but NO bball coach ever has been worth $850,000. don't care who it is. imho

for that matter, neither is any football coach...

Agreed, so why do we pay it? Pride and ability to win (= fill seats = revenue). But look at pro athletes, singers, actors; when push comes to shove I'd a whole lot rather have a good electrician, plumber, auto mechanic. Don't me going. BACK ON TOPIC! (But you still get 2 likes.)

Anyone know how thr DD USC visit went?

Dude. You're not even close. You might want to check your facts. The majority of the players make more than that.

As I said, that remains to be seen. This is all just talk and speculation but the fact remains that the Lady Vols have had the best fan support in women's college basketball for 25 years and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

The players in the NBA make many millions while the coaches make 5- 10 million. You are the one that needs to check the facts. Players make much more than coaches in all professional sports. Who don't know that ????You for one !!!!!

This isn't the NBA we are talking about. Apples and oranges. You said WNBA coaches make 40,000 to 50,000 a year, so what you want people to believe is that say a coach like Carol Ross will move to L.A., where we all know the cost of living is dirt cheap  and work for 40 thou when she could get a job making 10 times that in college. You think Cooper came to Atlanta for funsies at 40or 50 thou? If you do, then as my grandmother used to say" well bless your little heart". Check your facts dude. They ain't making 40 thousand a year.
