Yahoo Sports lowers the boom on Miami

I didn't see you make any points, I apologize. I saw a post from LawGator and then you responded, parroting the points that he already made.

Mighty self-righteous words from a fan of a school who has two current players that were implicated in the yahoo sports story.

LOL, two players out of 72 who are alleged to have gone to someones house. You got an entire program corrupt beyond comprehension and you want to take shots?

Typical Muami hubris. Enjoy this fall's football season. Going to be your last for a long, long time.

Personally I wish that the Tebow-slurpers and the Tebow-haters would all meet in the middle somewhere and realize that this is indeed only his second year in the league and not all rookie quarterbacksters come in and start as rookies and that yeah he has some things to improve on and I believe that with time he will become a decent NFL quarterback but certainly no Peyton Manning and no Im not singling out PM because I like the fella and you know I was actually on Peyton Manning Pass just this past weekend and I was wondering why it wasnt longer or was he given a shorter street on campus because he is a possession type quarterback and maybe if he had thrown downfield a little more would have gotten a longer street named after and who got the longer street between him and the holdsclaw chick?

Thank God for that question mark at the end. You were getting dangerously close to a run-on sentence.

I guess Miami is lucky that Gator Nation doesn't have any say in the sentence.

Your haterism is troubling, good sir. Perhaps, get a hobby...

I would be hiding under a rock, not posting on other boards if I were a Miami Fan right now. If I were posting on boards, I would simply say "I am ashamed to be a Miami Hurricane fan right now".

I've been listening to the local sports talk radio here in Louisville today, and people are freaking out about Clint Hurtt. Most of the callers are hoping UofL breaks ties with him immediately...

There is no shame in a UM grad defending his team. The reason people loathe Miami is the fake hangers on. That comprises roughly 80 percent of a home game audience.

Do you really think they will get the death penalty? I'm seeing it thrown around a lot, not just on here but espn and other boards.

There will never be another death penalty unless that is the only choice of punishment. Plus, the U would have to be on probation already to warrant it.

If all that has been said is true, I believe that the death penalty would be justified. I think this is really the only way to send the message that this kind of stuff will not be tolerated. Paying for players ok that goes on everywhere. But tell me another program that someone puts bounties out on other players. That's just downright disgusting and reprehensible. I, like everyone else on this board dislike Tebow strongly but to get paid to take another player out of the game is just horrendous.

The ncaa has said publicly that they will never issue a death penalty again. I too believe that it will be severe but not death penalty severe.

Apparently baseball was on probation in 2003 for the U and according to ESPN, it does not have to be the same sport that gets in trouble to warrant the " death penalty". Anyone else heard of this?

I agree but I was just replying to a statement above saying that in order for them to receive the DP, they would have had to have been on probation. They were.

Oh I know what you were saying. It just baffles me that they have to already be on probation to be handed the death penalty. I mean this is death penalty worthy if any case has ever been.

The NCAA said years after the SMU decision that there would be no more death penalties.

But, under the assumption that the NCAA does its job (as big of an assumption as that is), this should be easily the worst punishment since. Thinking many years of postseason ban and stripped of all scholarships.

Also, the 'AA needs to start enforcing show-cause for guilty parties. Basically, if you're guilty and were around when ish happened, you won't be getting a job with an NCAA program for quite some time.

Yep, not gonna stop Pete Carroll, but it might stop most.
