Yahoo Sports lowers the boom on Miami

Ya know what just occurred to me? And if someone has mentioned this sorry I haven't read the whole thread. What if there is major conference reconsruction as most are predicting. Who's gonna want to take a Miami team that's 10 years from being competitive? If they make say 4-16 team conferences and the ACC gets disbanded, then Miami might get left out.

a conference that wants to recruit in South Fla.:)

I think the death penalty is warranted, but won't be levied. I'm curious to see what kind of punishment can be constructed that is harsh enough for Miami, but yet doesn't also punish the other schools in the ACC and that are on their schedule...i.e TV ban.

Personally, I'd like to see something like banishment from the conference and loss of all football scholarships for multiple seasons, plus postseason ban. Basically reduce them to a team of walk-ons with an NAIA schedule. Don't know how realistic that is, though...

Sorry...seriously. I think what you are getting at is why Miami won't get the DP or even a TV Ban. Emmert knows that might start a domino effect and fill the ACC with insecurity.

For instance, if they give them the DP or ban them from TV it effects all of the ACC in a negative financial way. This might be enough instability to cause some teams to look around for new digs.

Emmert made a call to all the commisioners in the wake of A&M. He wants stability, the question is how do you give UM what they deserve w/o hurting the rest of the ACC? Guess we'll find out.

I'm waiting for someone to connect the dots and inform me as to how Calipari and WWW are involved, because well, they have to be.

As a KY fan, stop trying to get included into a football discussion. It will not work. Just lay low and read the posts until around November.

just joined this forum recently. my house divided between my wife (ut alumni) and myself a long time hurricane fan. it has been a wild ride miamicane, but the ride is not over. I don't think we will stop at the 5 national championships. just might be a while before we get chance at the 6th.

I agree. In about 10 years you should be right back to where you are now. On the upswing.

Let's not forget this is not just one school. It's one school getting in trouble for something that goes on at just about big ncaa school that has a top athletic program. Yeah what happened was stupid, but right now it's allegations not facts. And all coming from a convicted felon.I'm sure that telling the whole truth is what got him in trouble in the first place.

A convicted felon with MANY people, and a paper trail that would stretch to the moon as evidence to back his claim. Miami is donezo for the forseable future.

It's that paper trail that has Miami in deep sh*t. Had nevin not had there there would have been no substance to this story. Paper trails tell it all.

Is there any actual evidence or is this just he said/she said by a convicted felon? Because the latter won't hold up IMO

Supposedly the yahoo reporter went through 20,000 pages of records from his bankruptcy case, 5000 pages of cell phone records and shapiro even gave him passwords to 4 different email accounts.
