Ok so our starting QB is out, our best 2 WR's are out, and the guy who QB's our defense is out. Yeah...this is going to be a fun one to watch!

If so then he took away reps from others which I have a problem with if he wasn’t taking care of business, was not gonna go or be invited on the trip, and then bailed

I'm trying to see a scenario where having Banks practicing in pads but not playing in the Bowl is a good thing.

I don't doubt Hooker might be at practice, on the sidelines, motivating, etc because that's a good thing and he's been a team leader. Maybe Heupel felt Banks brings unity, motivation, and leadership to the defense?

I'd think it's rare for a guy who is known to be moving on to be invited to dress for bowl practice even to "not do much." Maybe I missed it but I doubt Hyatt was dressing for practice even if he was there.

very limited. he took some but nothing much.. from reports I was given..

its bowl practice. reps not all that important anyway.... players have a whole season of reps.. if they don't know what to do by now not going to learn much at this time..

He's just showing that the last 2 months were about "me me me" rather than being a team player. I doubt he'll mention Tennessee giving him a shot, multiple times, if he makes it pro. He'll Arian Foster it.

My guess he was practicing and then eventually told he’s not invited to the bowl game and then decided he was done…all of which may have occurred later than it should have. On Christmas Eve

What's been going on with him this year? He went from 1st in tackles to 3rd on the team in tackles and he didn't start some games didn't Play MTSU and south Carolina and some games he barely had any tackles zero sacks . What's the story?

If the bowl issue was academics, there's no way Austin Price, who was hinting this for a week or so, knew more than Heupel about Banks academic issues. Hell, grades have even been posted a couple of weeks and Heupel has better sources (tutors, etc) than anyone.

I have a hard time believing the staff didn't make a decision until nearly Christmas. If it's Banks himself pulling the plug on the bowl (and I don't think it is,) he's got issues that will tank any NFL interview. He's not good enough at that level for them to overlook that much immaturity.

In the big scheme of things it's not a huge deal but I'd rather have him playing in the bowl or not in pads with the team for bowl practice. It's not like he's prepping for another game or coming back next year. If you're gone....... you shouldn't be dressing out for practice.

Not bought in. Same issues at Texas. He and Banks similar in that regard. Struggle with structure required as part of a team.

He has not nbeen the best football player! How many penalty yards did he rack up against Tennessee, for stupid stuff like facemasks, late hits, unnecessary roughness, out of bounds hits, etc.
Good riddance of the redneck thug!
