What does that have to do with a horrible ruling??
I have my own problems yes and fall short everyday, but that still doesn't change the fact that it's wrong. No one person is without sin, because we are born into it. We still have to try and do what is right and what is taught to us by the Bible.
Just asking.
It has the same thing to do with the ruling that your request to those that agree with the ruling to dust their Bibles off does.
Absolutely NOTHING.
By the way, the Bible doesn't say a word about two people of the same gender getting married. It says that two people of the same gender shouldn't lie with one another as a man would a woman.
In other words, the sexual act is the sin, not the love of one another. Infact, Jesus taught to love everyone.
It's amazing to me how many "Strong Christians" have this so wrong.

Wow, I'm not even going to touch that one. I am going to refer you to your pastor for clarification on that statement.
that's your morals against someone else's morals. You're saying the govt can make that judgment, I don't think that's fair.

Yeah, but somehow I don'y you'll be able to have more than one wife in the near future. It varies, but I think the core of it is pretty much the same... don't kill, steal etc.

You know that is true for the most part, but most of the principles are derived from Christianity.
I think you realize that's there's several kinds of "love", but whatever you say. So you think if the Bible says it's not ok to have sex with the same gender, that it's ok to marry them? I'm really not trying to pick a fight, I'm trying to see where you're coming from.
most core principles in all forms of religion worshiping a non secular God and even many aetheistic views are quite similar though.
I believe that the Bible doesn't directly refference marriage between the same gender. I believe that the sexual act that homosexuals have is a sin. I believe that the passage referencing being yoked to similar people is the closest thing that someone could use to say the Bible is against "Gay Marriage".
Outside of that, I believe that the Religious Right doesn't like homosexuality, and therefore a majority of them use the Bible to attempt to "explain homosexuality away" on every level that they can.
Instead of simply loving people regardless of their sin which would be the "Christian" way, they turn their back on homosexuals and attack them every chance they get.
Frankly it's one of the things that turns me away from "organized religion".
I always ask atheists where they get their morals and the most common response for me is "they were taught to me". My second question that always gets them upset is when I ask where did your parents learn those morals. It's almost certain you get them there.
