Talk of Jordan in some team approach with McCarthy. This is a nonstarter. Jordan cannot be allowed to have any power.

And, at that press conference he refused to answer questions about his having voted against certifying the lawful election result and authored a brief to the Supreme Court supporting Trump's lies about the election.

Even worse, he refused to commit on bringing the Israeli-Ukraine aid package to the floor for a vote. Is Johnson anti-semitic or another Putin puppet?

Nancy Pelosi negotiated with Republicans for decades. She took a liberal stand on issues, but she got the work done to move things forward.

A significant faction of the House GOP, led by the MAGA wing of the party, appears to have taken the absolutist position that ANY negotiation or compromise with Democrats is ALWAYS anathema to GOP goals and so, no matter the merits of such agreement or compromise on a given issue or policy matter, the GOP leadership has no choice but to resist it.
