That is what bothers me about this whole Fire Martin noise...When this team went on that winning streak last year, everyone was praising his coaching ability, now all the sudden, he shouldn't have a job anywhere...I am disappointed in this team, and yes the coaching staff, but u can't fire coaches every 2 years...It really bothers me to think that our fan base is dang stupid...I am hoping a lot of these posters haven't reached the age of college graduation, but if u have, and firing a coach this soon and often, u got real problems that u need to address..seriously men..

Idiotic logic here. Historically no one besides Kentucky and Florida have been better. We are top 5 in attendance. Not sure what you are talking about.

How does most of our fanbase not realize how high this program was just a few years ago?! Tennessee basketball was back on the map...got national recognition...Bruce Pearl hoopla and attention at games, top 5 in overall attendance, elite 8 and 1 pt from going to the final four! Look where we are now...OPEN YOUR DAMN EYES! This guy is just another Dooley that cant cut the mustard in the big boy conference. I have ZERO.ZERO % confidence that Martin can lead this program back to the promised land. Apathy is starting to set in with this team, at least with me it is. We are wasting precious time by keeping this guy another year. Its time UT shows it means business. I seriously am asking myself...Does Martin even feel any heat from the fans by now? Does he think Hart is just sittin in his office going...oh..we lost to GA at home..oh well...itll get better? I honestly dont think he feels ANY heat. Thats the whole problem here!

The difference between this year's team and last year's, is having your best player, and not having your best player.

The reality is, this team isn't that far off record-wise from last year at the same point in the season, and this team doesn't have near the bad losses last year's team does. Now, to be fair, they don't really have many good wins either.

There are some signs of regression, but aside from Golden's downturn, I see the others as directly related to the absence of Maymon. Stokes is obviously better playing alongside JM vs playing with Kenny Hall. Hall has no understanding of spacing and deliberately drawing his man out of the paint to allow Stokes to operate. He isn't a real threat to score either. Neither is Yemi. The result, their man comes over and doubles Stokes every time.

We have no outside shooting ability. The player I have the most confidence in when the ball leaves his hand (Reese), is a 35% shooter from 3, which isn't lighting the world on fire. This also leads to teams clogging the paint in an effort to stop Stokes.

I'm not a Martin apologist, but firing coaches after two seasons is bad business. It leads to instability and constant program reset. Sure, you might find the right guy, but it's just as likely, if not moreso, that you find another Wade Houston. Plus you might lose the best player to legitimately sign with Tennessee in years (not counting Stokes and his unique circumstances).

Do you really want to start that? Two vacated Final Fours due to recruiting violations and you want to be like Calipari? It is all just a matter of time before he runs away again and UK gets hit.

I agree 100%. If he hadn't won all them d@mn games, then we wouldn't care about winning like the Buzz/O'Neill/Houston/DeVoe eras. D@mn him for coming in here and winning like that. Just look what he has done to TBA. Now it's one of the best arenas in college bb. We don't need that crap here at TN. D@mn Pearl!!!! Now we have the Pratt Pavilion also. D@mn him for winning all those games and letting us know what it feels like to be a winner. It's good to be back at the bottom of the SEC again. I've missed that feeling.

Oh wait....we were second in the SEC last year, so I guess we were not so bad after all...well I guess we can just blame him for this year then....D@mn Pearl!!!!

I read and dont post much Its embarassing to be a vol fan at times due to Idiots like the OP.. How n the Hell can you say he cant coach... Players Play Coaches Coach... Lakers got the best "Players in the World" and lost to a sub par Celtic team by 30... My point Players have to play!

They did when he took this roster that was picked to finish 11th in the SEC to a 2nd place finish. Now that your two All SEC players are injured and surprise, we're struggling, everyone's saying fire him(in year 2). It's hilarious.
