Dabo dumps on Tennessee AGAIN!

Thank you Dabo for complimenting our program. We are appreciative of our coach, Josh Huepel. Sorry your fanbase is full of a bunch of spoiled brat kids who were in preschool the last time Clemson failed to reach double digit wins. Hopefully our fanbase never forgets where we have been the last decade and continues to support our coaching staff to the fullest.

I would excuse this as a nothing burger if not for Dabo's comments last year after the SoCar game. 2nd straight year he likes to talk about us for no apparent reason. He clearly has a beef with UT for some reason. Not sure if it's because we tried taking one of his coordinators or what. But he definitely needs to move on.

Dabo sounds like a guy that knows his time is getting close to being up and he's just making excuses.
The wife and I have been re-watching some Hell's Kitchen seasons (don't ask...it's a guilty pleasure thing)and Dabo reminds of some of those chefs on that show.
Come out kind of meh, get really hot and do some things, but then all of the sudden they aren't communicating and performing and get sent home.

FWIW - I work with a couple of Clemson grads and they said they would like to see Dabo given a retirement package sooner rather than later...don't want to be "Fulmered" is how one gal put it...HAHAHA

Clemson cant afford to give him a 61million go away package. They could have suspended him a game for the comments and watched his ego implode.

Still strange to see how TN fans are mocking Dabo and since he is having one bad season in a decade he is all o a sudden washed up and overrated.
The guy is just a creep and self-absorbed to a level that just defies imagination. It’s non-stop - when they are good, he’s insufferable because it’s all due to him (throw in some faith for good measure). But when they are bad, it’s always someone else and people don’t appreciate his perfection.

I haven’t been able to stand the guy from the beginning. This latest charade should blow the veil off his entire schtick, but for some reason people still eat it up.

Dabo is slowly Fulmerizing the Clemson program as they continue to ignore changes in the college game, lose coordinators and have a bad case of the red arse getting beaten in the Orange Bowl last year. Wait until they draw an invite to the PinStripe Bowl this year and see how many faithful show up for that event. Seminoles are headed to the ACC Championship and the Rose Bowl, a fact not lost on Dabo and why the SEC would add a school bringing no more regional audience than Clemson would is beyond me.

he isn't wrong. in fact his speech got me thinking about our fickle fanbase. his spill about "appreciative" fans vs "critical" fans. after the darkness of clausen's offense under phil, to kiffin leaving in the middle of the night, dooley, jones, and the payments made in mcdonalds bags, i am very appreciative of the current regime. go vols

He is wrong. He’s just covering up cause they suck this year. Clemson is a cult, and that call was staged

Not that it's likely to happen, but a bowl rematch with the Fightin' Dabos for the Vols wouldn't make me sad.
I hope we don't have a bowl rematch with them. They are likely going have 5-7 losses this year (they already have four).

I live in SC and the Clemson fan base, like most, has unrealistic expectations. They have been the Alabama of the ACC except there is no LSU or Georgia in the ACC, so they expect to win the ACC and be in the final 4 EVERY YEAR! Those expectations have been met for a decade as they were in the Playoff the first 6 years it existed and have won the NC twice. They won the ACC last year but for the second year in a row didn't make the Playoff. So even though they won 11 games it was a down year, as they had double digit wins for the twelve years prior. That loss to us in the Orange Bowl especially by the margin we beat them, sent many of their fans off the rails. They felt entitled to beat us because they had punked us on the recruiting trail so often, well why wouldn't they? The more reasonable of their fans however are afraid that this years poor showing is the result of Dabo's resistance to NIL money, and his refusal to use the portal. And they may be right.

Yes, some reality is sinking in for the young and bandwagon fans, the old heads are still appreciative because they know Clemson is not a blueblood program.

Yeah...thats exactly why I said not likely to happen.

I'd chalk ND and UNC up as losses with wins over GA Tech and SC.

That gets them bowl eligible at 6-6.

Hope we are in a higher tier of bowls at 8-4 or 9-3.

I Will always look and glance sideways at the Joel Osteens, Dabo Swinneys and others who pay lip service to God. They boast of their fame and wealth like it is the only true measure of faith. They even start believing they are the Almighty, or only 2nd to him.
Can you give a list of objective reasons to categorize the two together?

I'm not claiming Swinney is anything like perfect. He's done things like reacting to that caller recently to hurt his testimony. I'd be interested in seeing where he has boasted or claimed that fame and wealth are the measure of faith.

I'm just asking for fairness for a professing Christian without the bias associated with him coaching at a rival school (recruiting wise).

Please don’t misspell Clawsons name that way. I don’t care about him but I definitely care about the Clausens.

Boasting, making an open show of religion and looking down on the less fortunate, borders on the Pharisee type of tendecies.

Finebaum has been attacking Dabo for over a year, but Dabo is too afraid to stand up to him, and yet he doesnt care to go off on an average Joe.

I hope this event was staged, because hopefully this is not how he really is. My problem with it all being staged, is why make the caller a vet?

It flies in the face of support our troops.

Don’t hold your breath. There is a contingent of Dabo worshippers that are very vocal on here and will defend everything the guy says or does.

To me, the guy is on the same level as those televangelists proclaiming themselves to be so godly and when they get caught doing something wrong or people ask questions, they turn on the water works and/proclaim themselves to be the “true” one and everyone else is to blame.

All Televangelists aren't that Ilk. But JOEL is....

He just pointed out how long it had been between our 10 win seasons. Just stating that fact and pointing out their sustained level of success over a long period of time. I think the OP is overreacting a bit. He wasn't dumping on UT. Just pointing out how good Clemson has been over so many seasons.
Well he can just go ahead and say Clemson sucks now because they do
