People literally think this is going to be screwed up only because of the misfortune we've had in the past. Under a different administration. No logical rationale whatsoever. Unbelievable.

We are expecting a homerun and we need one. I do not think we can afford a mistake at this point. W e have to get back competing with the top.

The funny thing is Al Golden could possibly have taken this team and won 9-10 games this year. Who knows? When your looking for a football coach, the rockstar hire is not always the way to go. Winning is more important than hiring who the fans want.

There are going to be alot of upset fans after this hire is made. There are only a few coaches in the world that can recruit and coach the way that Saban does and this program is too much of a train wreck to make any of them want to come here, plus the Unversity most likely cannot afford them either.

FYI, you gotta have a "rockstar" hire at UT now for one simple reason, we are irrelevant in the SEC now. As a few high school prospects put it, "we aren't really old enough to remember Tennessee being dominant"....A guy like Gruden would sweep up all the in-state talent leaving right now (something we can't afford to let happen any longer)

Yeah and people said that Dooley could have possibly taken this team and won 9-10 games this year (were you one of them?) if not for this assistant or this mistake or whatever. There are always excuses, but excuses (and "could have"s) are for losers. Golden is a loser, with a proven record of losing. Wanting to hire a proven winner instead is not the same as a "rockstar hire", it's just simple common sense (which unfortunately seems to be in short supply in Knoxville these days).

Hopefully Saban will go to Texas when Mack Brown retires which I hear is sooooooon!

You are absolutely right about this. The rock star would start with a flash, but what will he do in the daily grind demanded for a college coach with 18 year olds, practice and recruiting limitations, dealing with the Cheek and Martin idiots and fans after a couple of losses. BTW, I hope we do better than Golden.

NEITHER ONE will come here we got to get that through our head Gruden is laughing at all of the talk and Stoops is not leaving because the Big 12 has only a couple of teams that are elite, and his team is one of them think about.:eek:hmy:

I understand but we have to recruit on the level of Alabama,Florida,LSU,Georgia, because those teams are not going after 2 and 3 star recruits like we have been getting. We need to get to another level or we will stay at the bottom of the SEC. Pay Gruden and give him what he needs to win at Tennessee. The stadium will be filled. Gruden t-shirts would fly off the shelf. UT can make alot of money off of him.
