a whole lot of fan bases are CLASSLESS to opposing teams/players. every single team that goes into cameron wants the play THE GAME of their life... because it's duke, and it's in durham. I don't know if a college basketball team gets more pumped than to play that game. and i'm not even a duke fan.

The point I am trying to make is that Duke's home court advantage over the years has been based on officiating and talent, more than anything the Crazies ever did.

ask any unc player if they would truely be afraid to play at duke (even if unc was #1 and duke wasn't even top 25), and i'd be willing to bet they would all say yes. everyone dreads going into duke, because of the fans.

oh, and with scott williams, do you know the circumstances of the chant? let's see, he went to unc, duke's rival. things heat up in the middle of a rivalry game, especially a close game. and i'd be willing to bet scott williams did something to really piss them off. and i'd be willing to bet that afterward, the duke fans were sorry they said it.

dickens, you have not provided any proof at all to show that the cameron crazies suck.


go back and look at duke's home winning pct vs. tennessee's home winning pct (go with just conference wins if you want, cuz duke hasn't lost at home for OOC games in years). look at their total losses for each year. then look at the talent duke has had from their championship year until now. also, look at the defecit of duke's losses away and their losses at home and compare.

^doing that research will prove to you that duke's talent level has dropped off and the only reason why they have won games at home is because of the cameron crazies.

the only proof you could provide is if duke's talent level had stayed the same, with no away losses, only home losses. that is the only way you could prove yourself right.

all that matters are refs and talent level, not fans.

how can any college sports fan, especially a tennessee football fan, say that homecourt advantage doesn't matter? if it doesn't matter, then why does neyland stadium have 100,000+ seats?

one main point is... you can't base HOME COURT on TALENT.. that's what how good a team is is based on. Home court is based on fans. and atmosphere. demarcus nelson does not make that homecourt. Players don't make the homecourt, they thrive on it.

I dunno if i worded that too well... Yeah, nelson makes it tough on opponents. but not cuz he's cheering. cuz he's talented as hell.

i know... I can't believe all this time I thought the Cameron Crazies gave Duke an edge at home. I feel like such an idiot for not realizing they have nothing to do with games there.
