There are plenty teams that have not defeated Bama, Georgia, and Florida on the road.Heupel has not defeated Georgia, Florida or Alabama on the road since he got here, quality road wins are very hard in the SEC, it takes top shelf game plans, creativity on both sides of the ball (particularly late in the season) and solid execution on the field, none of which Heupel has been able to generate on the road during his tenure here with the notable exception of the LSU game two years ago at 11:00 a.m. central and the Missouri game in Columbia when Tennessee hung 62 on the Tigers.
There are a number of not ready for the big time coordinators and position coaches on Heupel's staff, if he's not willing or able to adjust various aspects of his program, 10-2 is his ceiling and the likelihood of winning big time road games in the SEC play will be difficult, our schedule will always include Florida, Georgia and Alabama, there will be years where we will have to also play Texas, South Carolina as well as LSU.
Yeah I'm sure it has nothing to do with the 2 NFL receivers, a 6th year QB, and NFL talent on the Online. It was definitely all Golesh. That's why he's killing it at South Florida with a 3-3 recordI agree heupel calls the plays, buts it's definitely visible that the first 2 years the offense was explosive even with a group of misfits. So the difference is who was the labeled OC. So it's evident that Golesh was a better 2 to heupel than Hazle and helped put together a game plan that gave guys the best possible opportunities. Yes you can label the drops and o line play as a factor but yes the OC is a factor in the way our offense is performing this season and last season because don't forget Milton looked like a pro in the clemson game and golesh was the OC and then last season he looked lost
Do people not watch the games and see that CJH calls the offensive plays? The cameras show him almost every offensive play covering his face while he is talking to NicoHeuple cannot keep on holding onto this STRICTLY VANILLA CALLING wannabe OC. This is unacceptable to all VOL fans and to the university. Do yourself a favor, give him whatever money is in his contract and go get a great OC. I posted earlier this week that it would come down who could call a better game..........and I was right. Bobo beat Halzle, and almost every other offensive , defensive coach. Our special teams were the only coaches that did their job tonight. You will never have a SEC championship , let alone any other championship until you get rid of him. To all Vol fans, until we realize this, and more importantly, Heupel realizes it, Tennessee will not win another championship with him as an OC.
Everyone is angry that we loss. The natural reaction is to fire everyone. Sane people know that we didn't play particularly well, but also there were some Questionable flags thrown. 8-2 is w good record. We lost 1 game that we should've won. It happens....It’s easy to scream this on a whim but last night we played pretty aggressively. We just didn’t execute.
OUR WR have not played well in two years. Either a) they are not coached wellEveryone is angry that we loss. The natural reaction is to fire everyone. I mean let’s have some perspective here. The last vol qb to win there was Dobbs. That was Kirby’s first year there and we needed a miracle play to do it. Nico looked pretty good considering the hand he was dealt. WRs failed us last night. Defense allowed two long drives that basically ate up a majority of the second half of football.Nico has been here almost two years. He enrolled early, had all of last year to learn and has played 10 games. No need to put caps on the freshman no matter how many times the media says “he’s a freshman”
Don’t disagree on the WR, they have been the biggest disappointment of the team as a whole. The he’s just a freshman needs to be pocketed as an excuse. He’s not freshman from graduation this past May, he’s been with the team since the orange bowl.I mean let’s have some perspective here. The last vol qb to win there was Dobbs. Guy has grown tremendously over this season as a player. He pulled down the ball several times last night to try and get the win no matter what. Several “fans” earlier in the season said he was scared of contact and all this other horse crap. How many seasoned veteran SEC QBs have won in Athens in a night game in the past fifteen years?
I mean if I’m going back and looking at mistakes Nico made in this game. There’s plenty but it’s really not that many more than any other QB playing in Athens. Freshman? Maybe not but first year starter; he still has plenty left to learn. Even if he’s Hooker though he can’t make the WRs get open and catch the ball.Don’t disagree on the WR, they have been the biggest disappointment of the team as a whole.
