Hopson

lets balls get slapped outta his hands and off his feet at least once or twice a game

Tyler has turned it over more - he's had a horrible game and has some really bad shots and turnovers. Scotty isn't the only player on this team that's struggling so everyone needs to stop acting like it.

Hopson has the wrong attitude. Whenever he's on the floor, I feel like I'm watching a depressed kid whose mind is elsewhere.

Hopson killed our chances at the end. A pass that he missed through his legs and a pass to no one. PATHETIC! "McDonald's All American." Maybe they meant future fry cook star.

Hopson came into Knoxville claiming to be a "one and done."

He may never play in the NBA. Of course he's just a freshman, but he doesn't look any better than most freshman that come and go.

Sit Hopson down, please.

Why isn't there a thread dedicated to Cameron Tatum? Or how about Bobby Maze - what about a big one for JP Prince - Woolridge anyone? Tyler had a pretty effin bad game today.

You think Hopson created his own hype? Did he put the 5-stars by his name? No - get real. Worry about the team with 4-5 guys playing pathetically rather than 1 freshman, who has 5-stars by his name on a retarded internet recruiting site.

No - sorry he didn't. The only people that claimed he was 1 and done were misinformed local sports writers who never had seen him play but saw his scout/rivals ranking and figured if he was ranked higher than Michael Beasley was in his class - then surely he'd be 1 and done too.

at least Tyler shows up and plays with intensity, Hopson is a lackadaisical player who is soft with the ball in his hands

Hopson has potential I guess, but that one and done talk is comical at this point. I'm not even sure that he should be getting the minutes he does right now. His defense is weak, he air balls free throws, he turns it over too much, he has a hard time even dribbling and it seems as if his basketball IQ is running a little on the low side. I'm not blaming him for the loss, but he certainly didn't help.

Tyler is a junior who is about 5 years or so removed from high school and is physically ready for the college game. Get a clue.

Actually the play that killed us at the end was our "go to" guy Tyler Smith driving to the baseline and stepping on it....the next trip down Hopson leaves his feet with no where to go with the ball and turns it over and has to foul.

With less than a minute left the coaching should have been better...plain and simple. Those two trips with forty something seconds left absolutely killed us. You go down twice and don't get up a shot either time...bullcrap.

Yep.

And you're right, he's not the main reason the team is struggling. Although, with all of the ridiculous hype he got from some of the fans before he even played a game, it was going to be hard to live up to that no matter what he did.

that's actually not true. He was interviewed about his "1 and done" status many times by the media, and he corroborated their predictions.

He fully intended to be a 1 and done player at the UTK.

You can make an argument that the local media made too much out of his recruitment and i'll buy that, but Hopson was a very self absorbed player coming into this season.

That too. I'm sure there could be a 30 minute tape made of boneheaded errors by the Vols in this game alone.

Give me a quote. No he didn't. He would have 'LIKED' to be 1 and done - but 99% of 5-star basketball recruits getting big hype would like to be 1 and done if possible.

Well, I think we can all agree that Hopson definitely isn't going to be one and done. Doesn't matter if he said it or not at this point. He's got some work to do. Fortunately for him, he has the upside.

i'm not interested in a war. You can do your own research. For all I care you win and I lose. I don't gain any satisfaction in proving i'm right and you're wrong.

Lol - because you know you're pulling that out of your butt and are twisting interviews or let the media twist your thoughts.

It's simply not true and either you or the interview you saw was twisted and taken out of context. I can pick which words I want to read as well.

There's a difference in someone wanting to be 1 and done and thinking their 1 and done quality. Scotty is a really reserved and quiet kid and he wouldn't say that.
