My point is that you have no idea when Mears coached or how many teams were in the tourney when Mears coached. Google can help you out with such things.

For all of those who want Pearl to stay, get ready for some disappointing seasons ahead. In other words, BP has put the University in a no win situation. Plus, he has dragged UT's reputation through the mud.

If you have a UT diploma(s), look at it. Bruce Pearl has taken a dump on what some on here worked hard to obtain.

Please dont be that guy. If you will please follow along and read. I stated that ut didnt have much basketball success mid devoe era until bruce pearl. You still with me? Okay another poster replies mears blah blah blah. Chronologically speaking devoe came after mears right? Okay...this may be tough for you...the same guy said the tourny is now watered down and bruces record there is comparible to jerry and don. Tourny went to 64 teams in the middle of dons tenure if my memory is correct. Do i need to google something else or are u finished with the smart comments?

I have two degrees from there and whether or not bruce stays or goes has any bearing on the work i put in or what it means now. Just my opinion

I'm just waiting for Moammar Pearl to hold a press conference saying that Thompson Boling will be flooded with a river of orange blood if the 'AA tries to depose him. That's pretty much the only cliche he hasn't thrown out there for public consumption.

Nice work. But the thing that people really remembers is what goes on in the tourny. If ut goes to the ncaa this year and that may be a big if that is the longest streak in history. So to compare his success to the last 25 years i would say it is as the top with alot of lean years in between. I dont argue that we could get another good coach. Likelihood based on our recent history isnt there and that is what worries people

As to your comment, you were best served when there was some confusion. Otherwise, you've basically told us your opinion, which is essentially that you believe it immaterial that the university that handed you a diploma (presumably there were no Engrish requirements at the time) is fighting tooth and nail to back a coach that the rest of the world views as a lying cheater.

Personally, I don't care about your opinion, but if my alma mater happened to be stumbling all over itself to support the same kind of actions, I'd be mad as hell. Letting people assume that your athletic programs are more important than your university image is one thing, removing any shadow of a doubt is senseless.

That's just hilarious. Yet you believe Bruce Pearl is some God of Basketball because he won ONE more game in the NCAA tournament to get the Elite 8. He was committing NCAA violations in the process to do it too.

The fact that you guys think getting to the Elite 8 is some huge deal is hilarious anyway. Getting to the Elite 8 means that you won 3 freaking games in a row, at least 2 of which are against teams that are mediocre at best if your team is worth a damn to begin with.

Complete garbage. You must have not been on here when we get the old "Bruce is the only coach to get us to #1 for a couple hours." Or "Bruce has won the East 3 times." The only time "the tourney is all that matters" argument is used is when the other regular season arguments are blown out of the water by the fact that Green produced results just as good.

Also, Pearl himself has been notorious for touting "winning the east."

What is the point of the continued arguing over something that no one here will know the outcome of for months ahead? Right, wrong, or indifferent, we are all on the same team, and even though the processes by which it is achieved are different, most here want what is best for UT.
