Israel confronts flotilla

It's amazing to me that here we are, so few generations removed from Christians killing heretics in front of their families, burning witches, and torturing scientists for speculating about the universe and you continue to harp about the mistreatment of Christians. I'm sure you would be quick to point out...even though all the sadistic church leaders in the 14th century read the teachings in from NT...that this wasn't true Christianity. Yet, at the same time, you are quick to point out the violent teachings of Islam and lump all Muslims as believing this nonsense. Islam is a problem, I fully agree with that. But the solution here is to bring the majority of the Muslim world out of the depths of their own ignorance to point where they can treat their faith as Christians do...like a buffet where they can pick and choose the good parts and disregard and rationalize away the bad parts.

This is not something that can be done by outsiders, we cannot pull anyone from the depths of their own ignorance, it is something that must be done from within. The question would be is radical Islam spreading and if so what are those moderate Muslims doing to marginalize it?

And don't start with your charges of Christian bashing and Muslim defending with this post. It's old and a pathetic attempt because you don't (or can't) address the substance of what I am saying.

Christianity and Islam are both absurd as far as I am concerned.

See bold.

It is so frustrating how you and some others here have to go back hundreds of years to put out how Christians used to be. I can go back to yeaterday to show examples of how Islam is killing in the name of their "religion".

Christians today, do not kill or support the killing of people, especially in the name of Christianity. Muslims do kill and do support killing in the name of Islam, convert or be killed.

Ever heard of the Lord's Resistance Army? Its a sectarian Christian rebel group in Uganda who wants to take over the government and set up a theocracy based on the Ten Commandments.

In an interview with the #2 guy he stated:

Lord’s Resistance Army is just the name of the movement, because we are fighting in the name of God. God is the one helping us in the bush. That’s why we created this name, Lord’s Resistance Army. And people always ask us, are we fighting for the [biblical] Ten Commandments of God. That is true – because the Ten Commandments of God is the constitution that God has given to the people of the world. All people. If you go to the constitution, nobody will accept people who steal, nobody could accept to go and take somebody’s wife, nobody could accept to innocently kill, or whatever. The Ten Commandments carries all this.

Q: When the war started, it was not only LRA – LRA was the last group to come in[to] the bush. It was Uganda People’s Democratic Army, led by former Prime Minister Otema Allimadi. That failed; they joined government as if they did not know the cause of their war in the bush. It was UPA [Uganda People’s Army] from the east, even another group – all factions [from] all over Uganda. They were defeated by the government. But LRA remain in position because what we are fighting for we have not yet achieved, so we are still in the bush. Our people are really in great trouble, they are in the camps, they are dying of starvation, poverty, even sickness. That is why we are still resisting and fighting so much for our people. I have seen they want to grab our land – that is not possible, that will not happen even a little. We are fighting up to now. We are very much interested in a federal system of government, so we should be independent. That is what we want. Cut?

Where do you see that these people are killing others in the name of Christianity?

They are fighting and killing people to establish a Christian theocracy. Is that not killing people in the name of Christianity?

they are fighting a civil war and are using religion as their hope and rallying cry. They certainly aren't pushing the idea that you're either a Christian or we will eventually have to kill you.

From what I read, they are being put in camps and starved to death. So if this is true I don't blame them for fighting back, I never read where they are killing in the name of Christianity.

It is funny how you and others like you are always looking to condemn Christians whenever possible, but rarely if ever condemn Muslims, and they are murdering every day and have killed thousands of our fellow Americans.

You have a heck of a lot of nerve to bring up Uganda to make that sort of comparison.

Do you not remember the bloody terrorist reign there of the muslim Idi Amin???

The LRA arose to defend Christians in southern Sudan against the arab muslim genocide that saw around two million mostly Christian black Africans lose their lives.

You strain at a gnat and swallow a camel.

"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves."
Winston Churchill

What is your solution? What should we do with all them mozlems here in America? Because we sure know they gon' get up and answer the call of jihad one day, right?

Those who see : Not you

Those who see when they are shown : I see what a fool you are when you show me

Those who do not see : Libtards?

How many examples do you all need to see that they want all of us dead? They don't care what religion you are, if you are not one of them you either convert or be killed. There is no compromise.

If shots are fired (or maybe I should say when), I'm interested in seeing which side the UN condems.

I am pretty sure you know that answer. The sad part is that the rest of the world and the US will agree with the UN.

that's a surefire way to get goods through. Those Iranians really have the poor Palestinians in their hearts.

The Israeli PM said in his first news conference that Israel couldn't afford to allow Iran to open a port in Gaza.

don't you think Israel is going to have to hit back hard before long? kind of like the one kid getting picked on at the playground ...

That will touch off a war.

We're not at war yet??

I guess they just have their annual 'death to America day' as a sign of respect and good will.

I doubt the US would side with the Iranians on anything...

We sided with the Iranians in the Balkans!!!

I didn't think we would have the kosovo liberation army on the terrorist list (and rightfully so) one day and on the best friends list the next and then drop more bomb tonnage on their behalf that we did on our own behalf in the whole vietnam war either, but that's what happened.

We have already done quite a bit to take the side of Hamas and Hezbollah already.

Iran knows they are on borrowed time as a poster stated before, I believe we are holding Israel off as long as we can but a strike on Iran and their facilities is inevitable and we all know it. The question is what can we expect from some of Israel's neighbors? Who joins the fray and who stays out of it? If we are talking Iran and Israel I think we can stay out of it for the most part. If others get involved we will probably respond in kind.

I agree that a confrontation is inevitable, but I think that Israel has to have the full support of the US and I don't think they have it under this regime. There best hope is that Hussein is voted out in 2012.
