If I was going to "cop out", I wouldn't have bothered to post. I never said that he was required to come back. I only stated that we needed him now and he wasn't interested so I hope that a job here is never offered to him again. He had his chance to come back and obviously his job at USC is more attractive for some reason.
Give him a chance. He may be right. That staff was pretty successful at the former school. I understand that this is not the Big East but Tennessee players are not Cinci players, either. They'll have more talent to work with.Maybe because he was building "the best coaching staff in the country?" Maybe because this isn't the Big East and we're not Cincinnati?
I'm sure that son in Knoxville disagrees. Because of this, I doubt that family had as much to do with staying as many think.I'm disappointed Tee didn't come back to Knoxville, but that guy is still my favorite Vol of all time and will continue to be. Not to mention, he has to do what is best for his family, and if that means staying in LA instead of coming back, then that is fine by me.

"Former vol tee Martin declins offer by tn to join staff". I'm so pissed that he acted interested only to turn us down. What a $hitty thing to do to us. I hope he understands that if he ever shows up here again, many people (myself included) are going to make him feel as unwelcome as possible. Screw that guy and the pos he works for. They deserve each other.
Yea, I'm setting our program back years with my comments about Martin's decision. I would rather be standing in Neyland Stadium than any place that i've been. I'm a passionate and proud fan. I see no problem that I bring to our program in feeling that way. My team got snubbed by a legend and it has rubbed me the wrong way. No one here is going to change my mind or make me feel better about it with smart remarks or insults.I don't know what is wrong with some of you.
1. You don't know what criteria factor in to his decision nor how they are prioritized.
2. You don't know what he was offered, promised, or told either by UT or USC. Or by any other school, for that matter.
3. You don't have the Martin family's best interests at heart, just what you believe are the bet interests of the UT football program. Those things don't always align.
I understand being disappointed that UT couldn't land him - we all are - but some of these comments are just ridiculous. You're doing more damage to the program than not landing Martin will ever do.
