KY loses 8 players--will the Vols take over the East?

You will be fine at guard. Liggins, Miller, and Lamb are good enough ball handlers to get it up court when Knight is out. It's your frontcourt that I'm excited about. When Kanter is not in the game it will be open season for Harris, Hopson, Hall and Williams.
i'm not a Kentucky fan but in the Dribble Drive Motion Offense the point guard doesn't just bringing the ball up the court. the offense is predicated on penetration so someone has to be a big enough threat to get to the rim. that's why Rose, Evans, Wall and Bledsoe were so successful.

Knight is a good penetrator but not as good as those guys. he'll likely make up for it with a better shooting stroke than any of them. the question is who can run the offense behind him.

Lamb, Liggins and Miller are good enough penetrators to set up scoring for someone else. But neither are really great finishers at the rim. Knight can score in bunches but I'm not so sure where UK will go after he's double teamed. Lamb is a consistent shooter within 17 feet.

Guarding the perimeter great against UK next season should result in a good outcome for the opponent. Unlike last year. And I'm not just talking about the 3 bigs they had. Wall was great at creating something out of nothing last season. I'm not too sure Knight has that same ability.

Knight is not in the same ball park as Walls. I don't think the prospect of Miller, Liggins, and Lamb being great drivers is going to scare too many teams; also Miller at the point would be welcomed by all teams.

I'm licking my chops at next season's UK team compared to this season's UK. Unless, ofcourse, they somehow land Jones, Leslie and Thornton.

I'm confident in saying we get one of these two. Originally, Jones and his teamate Ross were going to announce at the same time, supposedly because they were going to the same school. However, since Ross committed to Washington, some now say that means they are NOT going to the same school. Jones could be going to Oregon, UK or Kansas.

ESPN (not that it means anything....however) has said recently that Leslie is a lock to UK if Jones doesn't come.

Personally, I would rather have Jones, but I think we end up with Leslie. As for Thornton, not quite sure yet.

No matter how you look at it, we are going to be a slashing/penetrating team next season. Or least we better be. Otherwise, we're hurting.

Knocking down 3's will be critical for this team. You could go 2-22 this season from 3 because you had Cousins bullying everyone in the paint.

We should find out soon enough. Jones announces with Ross (even though he's already committed) on Friday and Leslie's talking about committing in the next day or two.

Thornton's being pursued by enough schools with instant time available that I'm not sold on him going to UK if they already have Leslie or Jones.

Nothing would make me happier if sometime over the summer Cal bolted for the NBA. Goodbye Kanter. Goodbye Knight. Goodbye Dodson. Goodbye Lamb. Goodbye Kentucky basketball as we know it.

He's got the connections to swing it but he'd either have to find a team that'll take a chance on a schoolyard offense or find a new one. His reputation as a less than stellar bench coach and his mediocre run with the Nets probably count as other strikes against him.

Completely different GM. They would hire him in a heartbeat as a package deal with Lebron.

the Nets would hire me if LeBron was part of a package deal. that's kind of what i was talking about with his connections. if i were LeBron I wouldn't want to be coached by Calipari though.

Funny thing is, he has stated that he would love to play for Cal. Also said that whenever his kid made it college, If Cal was still coaching that he would coach Lebrons prodigy.

Its a weird love affair.

Well, Leslie has apparently decided against the Cats. There are few elite players still on the board now. Interesting to see what Cal can do when he doesn't have the best talent in America.

He'll still have Lamb and Knight, but they will be thin in the front court. Like I said yesterday, great Peremiter defense against UK next season, which will be no easy task, will result in a probable victory.

Fact is, they won't be nearly as deep or talented as this years team. It's a good class, but doesn't compare to last years freshmen. If Bledsole decides to come back, they will have an interesting situation at point.

Bledsoe couldn't improve his stock over the next couple of years than he already has. He'll have Lamb and Knight in front of him next season. The season after he would have to compete with Gilchrist and Teague. I'd just stay in the draft if I were him.

there's a reason why Knight didn't sign a LOI. Bledsoe coming back would probably cause him to strongly consider not going to Kentucky. Bledsoe and Wall's games could coexist together because they get most of their offense off driving with the basketball. i don't think Bledsoe and Knight would coexist nearly as well as Knight needs to dominate the ball more and is a much more legitimate outside threat.

And Bledsoe was able to play along side Wall because Cal had no other guard nor had any wings. Lamb will compliment Knight well enough.

He's the first player that I've heard of that didn't sign a letter of intent. It appears that he could leave at any time and go to another school. Does any one know how moving would affect him with no LOI? Do NCAA rules even address this?
