Manning Debate

He's won the same number of Super Bowls I have, as well. However he's thrown 250 more touchdowns than I have.
I'm not sure how that post helps your hero. Unless you're simply into individual stats, which most Vol fans ripped Kelly Washington incessantly for, you've done as much to bring a Lombardi Trophy to Indy as Peyton Cakes. You're a big Kenny Chesney fan, aren't you?

I wonder how many people have Al Wilson jerseys in Denver? Typically, unless you are Ray Lewis or LT, I would bet that offensive players outsell defensive players jerseys 100 to 1 even in their team's markets. Just my two cents.

I really don't appreciate you making assumptions about me. Peyton is not my hero, nor is any athlete. Also, I don't like Chesney at all. However, Peyton obviously does and I don't think that he or any other fan of Chesney should be ridiculed for it. And if you don't think Peyton has done anything to bring a Lombardi trophy to Indy, how about getting them to the playoffs? Haven't they lost to eventual Super Bowl champs the last 3 years? They've done well, just not quite gotten over the hump yet. If you really think Peyton can't help a team win a Super Bowl, how many of the 32 NFL teams do you think wouldn't trade QBs with Indy?

Also, I don't see what the hell Kelley Washington has to do with anything. He had awesome individual stats the one full year he played (for UT). I think he's been OK in the NFL, but injured a lot.

So now the media created PM? This gets richer everyday. I guess the media used trick photography to make it look like he threw all those passes as good as he did?

You post all the time on here about how some hate on other players (Jamal, Al Wilson and others) yet it seems you never pass on a chance to bash any of the more fan favorite players. You talk worse about some of our players than I have read on bammer boards.
Other than Manning and Travis Henry, exactly what "fan favorites" have I bashed? I'm using the term bash loosely. I don't consider pointing out what a player has or has not accomplished to be bashing.

Anyone who listens to the destitute man's version of Jimmy Buffett is open to ridicule. What evidence do you have that Peyton Cakes could lead a team to a Super Bowl championship? The closest he's ever come is getting blasted by New England in the AFC playoffs.

From what I remember, it has always been a team effort in wins and losses. Peyton has had a few bad games, but he can't throw it, catch it, run it and play defense all by himself.

He can't throw it all by himself? Then why in the world is Indy paying him so much?

Exactly what is your reason for bashing Manning so much? Just wondering.
I'm not sure what you're referring to. I simply comment on Mannning's resume as a player, with the occasional personal jab to make guys like 88 stroke out. I wouldn't consider my comments to constitute bashing.

I'm saying he can't throw it and then run and catch it..

Nice try though.

He can't control the RB's fumbling the ball on the goal line either..

No super bowl is about the only knock on Peyton's resume. He's still got several playing years and time to earn that accolade. Dan Marino never won it all, but he was a great QB. Honestly, I think if he came out of retirement, a few teams would actually take a look at him. Just making a hypothetical example. No rings doesn't mean you are a bad QB.

I guess he can't control throwing the ball to Ty Law about a thousand times in the playoffs either.

Actually, I do. As I've said many times, I don't have any real issue with Peyton Manning. I have HUGE issues with UT fans who act like he invented water, the wheel, and Tennessee football.

Not anymore than all the other QBs that Law picks off with regularity.

I don't remember him getting anyone else three times in the same playoff game.

That is fine. Then there is no further need to slam on his NFL career. He might not be the greatest Vol ever, but he is certainly one of the best in recent memory. I hope he and the rest of the Vols in the NFL enjoy continued success.

Yes, but on the same day, Ricky Manning Jr. picked off 3 Donovan McNabb passes. That's sort of eerie. I think we all understand the symbolism behind that. Peyton had a bad day, but Manning still tops McNabb.

How so? McNabb has at least played in a Super Bowl. Funny, I thought football was about team accomplishments. Apparently it's about putting up big fantasy league stats.

I was being facetious. The joke was that Manning is superior because a dude with the same last name made McNabb look bad. I never mentioned fantasy league stats. Besides, McNabb is consistently one of the top scorers in fantasy football.

Fantasy football is terrible... What an awful way to follow the game of football. Football is all about the immeasurable.

I don't stroke out at anything you post. I laugh at fools. Your one of the very few who follow football who think PM is not one of if not the best QB in the NFL today. Period! You are one of a very few (Vol fan or not) who follow college football who would not consider PM one of if not the best QB in UT history. Period.

And as far as Kelly Washington goes, I don't think anyone had a problem with his stats. The "future" had attitude problems and has failed to live up to his potential. The diff in you and I is that I hope KW does well and wish he would have worked harder at being all he could while at UT.

If you "laugh at fools," you must be one of the most self entertained people on earth.

You bet. All I need is web access and you make me laugh well into the day. Imagine, a guy likes those who cause considerable trouble off the field and makes excuses for them while at the same time in order to defend the trouble makers he makes fun of those who don't. I'm laughing as I type.
