In 1991, while an assistant at Miami, a "permanent injunction of protection" was granted to a woman by a Dade County court against Orgeron prohibiting "any act of domestic violence." Orgeron was ordered into a 26-week domestic violence counseling program. Subsequently, a "highly intoxicated" Orgeron was arrested in a Baton Rouge, Louisiana bar fight in 1992 and charged with felony second-degree battery among other charges. The charges were eventually dropped but Orgeron was placed on probation by the Miami athletic department.

*cough* I'd be here all night if I went through history finding more "evidence" to support my opinion. *cough*

On ESPN, they said that even an injured player was out hitting people with his crutches..

What a disgrace. Larry Coker's job is slowly slipping away...
It's basically gone now. Coker is done at Miami, it's just a matter of when they fire him.

how'd could it not hurt their recruiting a little..atleast not this year.
It's the U. There are more talented football players in Miami-Dade County than any other place in the country.

I have to give Holtz credit for maning up and saying he didn't have control of his team...that kinda surprised me a little.

Miami could go 0-11 and will still get tons of 5 star recruits. Like I said earlier, beaches, sun, babes, money and drugs. What more could you want?

Finally saw some video of it... funniest part was the Miami players rallying together at the end of it, jumping up and down with their helmets in the air like they did something.

That's how they roll after a gang beat down in Miami

The sad thing about it is that neither Merriweather nor Reddick were ejected from the game.
I can't really fault the officials on that one. There's no way for them to see everything that went on during the altercation. The only thing they could have done is go to the video monitors, which would have just given the mayhem in the stands time to fester.

To me, that's the biggest indictment of Coker in the whole situation. After pulling them to the sidelines and talking to them, that was the response his players gave him. That, and getting a 15 yard late hit penalty on the kickoff when play resumed.

Is this something that Shalala and Dee are going to decide is grounds to remove Coker DURING the season?

I think it's possible. However, after seeing last night's behavior, would you want that team playing games under the football equvalent of a substitute teacher?

Coker has announced there will be 8 players suspended. The five who were ejected, along with Reddick, Meriweather, and James Bryant.

I heard the rematch might be canceled
There's absolutely no way they do that. First, that would be an admission by the schools that they can't control their football teams. Second, the hype from the brawl will result in a big draw at the gate. As Randy Newman once so accurately sang, "It's Money That Matters."
