I don't believe UK could beat AP 42-0 in an entire 4 qtrs, much less in one half. After watching their sloppy play, it was like watching UT last year. They were not prepared to play a game, no matter who the opponent was.
He gets 3 years and I will support him every moment. My confidence simply won't be very high concerning his ability or survival if he wins six or less this year.
Fumbles happen but coaches have the ability to coach ball security. That looked good except for Hill.
I do. I think the drop off in the secondary from our 1s to 2s is scary and Petrino knows how to exploit that. Keep in mind, his recruiting classes are Arky were full of 3* talent, and he went 10-3 and 11-2 in his last two years there. He knows how to get more out of less better than anybody. I mean, if we're playing walk ons on our secondary, how much worse can you get?? Don't think we'll lose, but I bet its closer than most think.
Saying Dooley stepped into a better situation is ludicrous. Do you remember the offensive line? Do you remember the defensive line? Rogers and Hunter were unproven. No qb on the roster had any experience except Stevens, and he transferred before the season started. Dooley stepped into An awful situation. Jones is in a much better position to succeed.
Dan never faced a triple team and I counted three double teams in the first half. He won 5 one v ones and was handled on the rest. Didn't watch the second half again as I assumed he sat. The coaches have said they want more out of him. HE had two QB hurries and a tackle against AP. He should have ragdolled those guys.Poorly? He was triple teamed most of his limited time in the game. Dan is a 3 down guy, and he only had 4 plays before the score was 14-0, 7 plays before it was 21-0 and 11 plays the first quarter. AP moved the ball well when he sat in the 2nd quarter as evinced by their drive to a FG attempt. He was inserted when they were at the 14 and he pressured the QB every time. His total number of plays for the 2nd quarter was only 7, and for the game, 18.
After the first play, AP did not run the ball anywhere near him. He also never saw action the second half.
He makes the rest of the team better by freeing them up. Several plays, against the spread, he was the lone interior lineman and he was enough. Dan played well.
I think many of those concerned about the Worley performance may be confusing some of Peterman's throws with Worley. 3 throws were not dead on, and only 2 misses. Not bad. Peterman was throwing behind the receiver most of the time.
Just my .02 worth after watching the replay closely.
I expect to see some plays that are specifically designed to take advantage of our younger defensive backs. Maybe crossing patterns, etc. etc.
Petrino would love to beat us and make a name for himself. Imagine him beating Kentucky in an away game. Then the following week beating Tennessee in an away game.
This would get him alot of attention and possibly a job opportunity, once the season ends. I doudt that Petrino wants to stay in Bowling Green, Kentucky very long.
You are trying so hard that you are becoming ridiculous. The talent now vs the talent then is relevant... and there is a significant advantage in every group except WR.But what's the price to tea in China?
Nothing on this team is proven, except for a middle linebacker, one safety, the offensive line, and maybe one DT.
Then why are you arguing with me? This is a better roster than either of Dooley's first two years. He won 6 the first year and 5 the second year. IMHO, a competent HC and DC would ahve competed for the East if not the SEC with last year's roster. If you wanted to replay one of the previous three seasons and insert Butch as the HC, I think you'd see better results.
True. That team played the 5 East opponents, Bama, LSU, and Ole Miss. They played Oregon and 3 chumps OOC. This year they trade Aub for Ole Miss and Mizzou for LSU. You could say that WKU is better than the 3 OOC chumps in '10 I suppose. Otherwise... that schedule is harder. But the truth is that this is a different team with a different schedule.
To make a blanket statement by saying Butch should win at least seven games because Dooley won six his first season is ridiculous.
Much, and VN will have a very different attitude come Sunday

No... it is neither a "stir the pot" nor is it ignorant.
Petrino is a top tier coach. He has made bad teams good ON THIS LEVEL. I only disagree with Oskie in that Jones may already be a top tier coach waiting to be revealed as such. If he might "become" a top tier coach... it probably won't be at UT. He doesn't have that long of a leash.
