Well, I don't see how.........
(France's) Government economic policy aims to promote investment and domestic growth in a stable fiscal and monetary environment. Creating jobs and reducing the high unemployment rate is the top priority of the French Government. In the 1990s, unemployment fell from 10% to 8.5%, although this rebounded to double digits after the dot-com crash, but currently, unemployment is back under 10%. France joined 10 other European Union countries in adopting the euro as its currency in February 1999. Since then, monetary policy has been set by the European Central Bank in Frankfurt.
Except for a few things, same as the US.
you sound more ignorant every time you spout domething written by their gov't to be a chamber of commerce piece. Look at their work weeks, mandatory vacations, tax rates, per capita GDP etc. If tht confuses you, post for me another recruiting ad.

again, China fancies itself a republic.
Nevermind. You're correct. France is a model democracy, just like England.

Sorry. What do you prefer? Seriously where do you stand and what makes you a democrat. No knocks or jokes. I'm truly trying to understand your perspective.
I am extremely socially liberal. Pro-choice, Anti-death penalty, pro-decriminalization of (certain) drugs, etc.
I am more or less a New Deal type of democrat fiscally, it is certainly not popular around here but I am what I am.
Neoconservatives = misguided thinking = intolerance = dumbing down our country
Intolerance of what? Or is that just automatically a bad word in your vocabulary?
apparently different viewpoints. I just get awful tired of neocons trying to group everyone on the left together into some evil entity.
I don't have time to reply to everything (at work), but I don't disagree with people having to earn things in life. It's just that the world isn't black and white, people will fall through the cracks. I've seen it and grew up around it. I've seen people go to work every day to take care of their family but they and their family aren't covered to due to circumstances. I've also seen the scum that don't contribute and their family suffers because of it. I would rather have a system that takes care of every one so no one falls through the cracks.

I would glady give a higher percentage of my income if it would make sure all Americans (regardless of their life and how they live) health coverage. I view that the benefit of covering those in need out weighs those that would abuse the system. Yes I am an evil and horrible human being for feeling this way.
