Political Correctness = Democrat = Socialism = Taking down America

This can be viewed as a noble position and I deeply respect your right to hold it and to do with your money as you please. However, I start having a problem when someone sticks a gun to my head and a hand in my pocket and demands that I give a percentage of my earnings for someone else’s benefit.

And we finally get to the real difference for most on this issue. Contrary to popular belief conservatives don't hate the poor or think everyone is on their own. The real difference is how to help - mandating a specific contribution and then funneling it through inefficient government programs clearly isn't the way conservatives tend to approach the problem.

2) "You give a large percentage to other despite your income level" doesn't make sense. Percentage is percentage regardless of what you make, but I forgot democrats don't believe in percentages (ie their idea of taxes)
Makes a whole hell of alot of sense on the contrary if I make 1million a year and give 50% I still have 500k to live on if I make 20k and give 50% I have 10k
to live on.Do you comprehend that? If so I'm glad I could help.If not there is not much I can do for double digit IQ's.:hi:

it doesn't make the least bit of sense. The idea that a high earner's money is worth less to him than a low earner is just stupidity, given that the high earner likely takes more risk and works harder for the money.

Your idea makes good sense in places like Russia.

What the hell are you talking about or as usual do you even know?what idea are you talking about my point is it is ahell of alot easier to give 50% of your income if you make 1 mil. a year than if you make 20k are you arguing this point.

Generally speaking, why penalize someone who makes a million dollars just becaus they earn a million dollars.

The person making 20 grand shouldn't be paying taxes....

This was not originally about taxes it was about charitable giving.

I know but that is the core of what we are talking about.

As with the other thread, people want to help others it is some of us believe the government is not the answer.

The person who earns 1 million spends much more to earn every dollar than the person who makes 20k.

Besides a person earning 20k is exempt from paying taxes, no?

I apparently don't know what I'm talking about, where you do.

You just keep making emotional arguments about what's easier to do for someone and I'll ignore them going forward so you won't have to respond any longer.

No, when I was a kid making less than 20K a year I paid mucho taxes.

I was under the impression a person earning 20k today would pay little or no income tax, am I wrong here?
simple answer Yes you are wrong they pay they may not pay a whole hell of alot but they pay.

Every situation is going to be different but the IRS reports that in 2006 the bottom 50 percent of wage earners (those earning less than 32k) had an average tax rate of only 3 percent.

without retirees paying taxes for earning more than the allotted amount, this number would be 0.
