What many of the Martinez critics fail to realize is he coaches the corners. Banks coaches the safeties, and their play has been far worse than the corners.

Willie has had this same pattern of poor coverage at every stop he’s been at. This is why he’s never retained. He can recruit, but can’t develop.

I don't disagree with your assessment that WM is a better recruiter than he is at teaching technique. That said, blaming him for poor safety play is complete BS. He has nothing to do with the safeties. That's on Banks and Banks alone.

I think its scheme too. Our scheme is so inconsistent. Some games Banks looks like a top DC. Others it looks like Justin Wilcox from the Dooley era. Truly mind puzzling

Doubt the cry’s from the wilderness are a factor with our head coach. He put that type of activity by a fan on the bad list as early as his introductory news conference. If brought to his attention it probably got an eye roll.

Fans are free to go negative on the value add scale if they so desire. Snarky classless attacks won’t get traction with a coach with character.

Be interesting to see how much correlation there is with the HADDEN IS A LOST CAUSE crowd. Coach can handle evaluations without public assistance.

I wanted Hadden benched after the Florida game. I was completely dead wrong. Hadden showed why the coaches had faith in him.

We as fans don't know a fraction of what we all think we know most of the time (myself included).

I agree that I know less than a little but I’ve seen too many average QB’s light our DB’s on fire. One player improving, marginally, doesn’t change anything for me. JMO

Looking at your examples. The receiver is well passed the DB. So they’ve already been burnt. And they aren’t turning around because they are chasing the receiver that just got by them, to at least make the tackle because they aren’t breaking up the reception unless it’s under thrown.

I completely agree. The turning of our DBs is overused as the solution when sometimes it really isn't the problem. If you are already burned, you better be going all out to catch up or it will be 6 points for the other team.

I'll give you a couple of those were. The chiefs pics he was not burned, he was draped all over the guy without turning around, the lions-you had 2 DB within arms reach that never looked back, the bronco/minn game he was trailing and never looked back.
Here are a few more with one being a TN guy. It's more common in the league to not turn than it is to turn. It's hard to cover a guy faster than you, with better ball skills. If the DB was better, he'd be a receiver.

I believe we have some talented players but certainly need more depth.
