Still have faith in Cuonzo Martin?

Please stop. That is an absolutely abysmal roster.

We've had this discussion before, you don't speak with facts, so you should just stop. If you wanna back up your statement with facts ill gladly continue the conversation...

I'll make it simple for you...

Thompson
Hubbs
Richardson
Davis
Stokes

Cornish
Cofer
Mitchell
Haas
Moore
Q
Reese
Ndiaye

There's your roster, stack it up to SEC teams and tell me exactky how it's abysmal?

Who is Haas?

Who is Haas?

We have Cornish, I included a very plausible 3 other recruits for the 2014 class. I didn't include Lyle, Lindsey or guys that highly rated who we may get. I included some good prospects who if we don't land them could likeky land an equal...haas is a big man in the 2014 class btw.

Well, at this point this is best case. I too think Stokes will leave after this year reguardless of the draft talent. IMO, he has a monster year anyway and will be able to. Playing along side Maymon will be huge for his game. I don't think he wants to come back his Senior year trying to fight through double teams being the only few scoring options on the team like we saw this year.

Yeah, I drew a blank. I was thinking current roster. My bad.

He knew that Yemi leaving could be a possibility in Feb. CCM didn't know if Maymon or Stokes would be on the roster last fall for this coming year. He did try to over recruit the post last fall by going after Nichols. He put all his eggs in one basket and let other talent slip away.... aka JW3. I strongly criticize CCM for his post and pg recruiting....or lack of.

However, if he didn't put all that effort onto Nichols and he didn't come here, this board would be complaining about why didn't Martin put more effort into Nichols. Martin has been criticized for EVERYTHING he's done, and this wouldn't have been any different.

It's very possible, but my post that BOP quoted and said that roster was abysmal included Stokes on it.

I don't think many would complain about losing a kid from Memphis to Memphis. We've all come to accept that. Of course, there has been a few exceptions, but not many. Getting JW3 and Hubbs would have bumped this years recruiting class probably to top 15. Also, filled 2 positions of dire need. JW3 coming in along with Davis, then Yemi would have probably transferred anyway due to lack of playing time. Who could complain about that.

Just a reminder... Bruce Pearls first year of coaching. Look at that roster. Names I totally forgot about! And we made the dance.

I'm having a hard time believing CCM is a great coach/motivator. BP took underdogs into superstars. Dane Bradshaw?! Jordan Howell! ,

Yeah cause CJ Watson, JaJuan Smith, and Chris Lofton all sucked.

when you are projecting multiple guys who aren't even on campus yet (and aren't supposed to be very good) as starters, than the roster is unspeakably bad.

It's not abysmal, but I see boaderline tourney bid. More of a miss the tourney than getting in. Probably 4-6 in the SEC.

Which is basically what I said, a bubble team. He said abysmal, and another poster said 10-12 win team, I don't see it being that big of a drop off. It will obviously depend largely on what Stokes does and the 2014 class.

Another post with no facts, getting to be pretty typical of you. I mentioned Thompson, Hubbs and Davis as possible starters who aren't on campus yet...all 3 are expected to be pretty good SEC players. THUS THE REASON EACH HAD OFFERS FROM ACC&SEC SCHOOLS.

The bottom of the SEC such as auburn and Mississippi state had abysmal rosters, maybe you should take a look at them. They were playing walk ons, and recruits who weren't even rated by services. The roster I posted has two 5* on it, along with about 4 top 150 guys. Take a look at last years SEC rosters and tell me where talent like that typically gets you...HINT: not the bottom of the SEC

Meant to post this the other day, was looming at jucojunction.com rankings and Ndiaye is actually in the top 100. Not sure how the rankings were figured, I assume evaluations, but was surprise considering his less than impressive stats.

Yahoo Sports: Rivals.com Ranking - 2013 JucoJunction Top 150
I'd of taken an athletic guy like Fred Mattison (Mott CC) 6'7 210 - 17.8/9.8, 72% FT shooter, 10 times over a guy like this.
Great student and defender.
Not sure how Pops will fit in.

Yea idk, just thought it was interesting he was rated top 100, it wasn't off his stats so must've been something. I continued down the list and saw some high majors who took lower rated recruits than Pops too.

I agree. There are obviously some huge questions about CM's fourth year and I share some of the same worries about the long term future. We're years away from being regarded as a top team that makes a run in the tourney every year.

OTOH, a solid season this year and a solid recruiting class next year would help tremendously and it's not out of the realm of possibilities, IMO.

His next recruiting class is crucial and will be under the microscope. The inkling of a marginal player being offered will diminish the confidence fans have in CCM. He has to get players that can contribute right away.

Yes I still have faith in Martin. He has shown the ability to recruit stud players, and he has overachieved with a limited roster.

I know I have asked about his assistants but I did some more research about Tracy Webster. Is it possible that his philosophy on the offense is different than CCM's? And that's why we are having problems? From this article, I got the feeling that TW likes to have his kids play UP-TEMPO. I didn't think CCM was an up-tempo guy.Thoughts?
