One involves a guy waving his own flag of his own country, and the other involves an American public school endorsing another country. What's different?

Because they are in the U.S. When they come to this country, they live by our rules. They dont live in that country. You can celebrate your culture without flying another flag over American soil. Multi-culturalism is what is destroying this country. Hyphenated-American instead of just plain American.
I have friends that live overseas and they dont refer to themselves as American-German.
Give the PC a rest
Funny thing, a lot of sports teams are funded in part from tax dollars. One involves a guy waving his own flag of his own country, and the other involves an American public school endorsing another country.
If the Saints were funded by American tax dollars, and then the organization hung a large French flag on the outside of the stadium to represent the portion of the community of French descent, then that might actually be a valid comparison...
And this endorsement of another country as you claim, does exactly what to America???One involves a guy waving his own flag of his own country, and the other involves an American public school endorsing another country.

Um, you do realize that multiculturalism is the reality in the US of A, don't you?
The same reason your ancestors crossed the border from Europe. You don't think they had pride in their country they came from?
Fighting suppression and fighting your culture is totally different. The people who came over to fight were dang proud of their culture. They only left because the ones in charge were crazy. There is a difference.Funny you bring that up.
Some of them had so much pride that they took up arms against their former country, and even fought against their own relatives to preserve their opportunity to live free.
in part, being the key words. when the titans came to nashville, SOME taxes went to them to build the stadium, practice fields, etc.

My grandma spoke of Italy often. She had great pride in coming from there.
it's not a separate issue. without those facilities, the titans aren't here. accordingly, the tax payers, played a big role in their being here.but the Titans don't own those facilities. AFAIK the Titans are a private organization and do not receive any funding from the public. The public may have invested in facilities to attract the Titans but that is a separate issue.
as long as it's on their property.... but by gosh if kids get together and ask those in charge to fly another flag beside the american flag, that's just downright unacceptable.Exactly, my point was when the succeed they didn't necessarily deny their roots, but embraced their new future.
And if she wanted to fly a 5x8 Italian flag in her yard no one should begrudge her for that.
But this is a different situation.
