Sacrilege? Not even close. With that loss even big media members are publicly calling for dooley's firing, nevermind the entire fanbase. I dont see how any fan could conclude that a 4 ot win would be anywhere near as valuable to the program as this loss is.

It is time for posters like you who are happy we lost or want us to lose games to get the hell off the boards. May be you should flunk out of school or get fired from your job. I do not wish that, but it fits in with your attitude. I think the Administration will make the correct decision with out your inappropriate posts.

There is NEVER any reason to WANT our beloved Tennessee Vols to lose no matter what the circumstances may be, NEVER!!!!

All the people on here that ever wanted our Vols to lose are NOT and have NEVER been real Tennessee fans that has Big Orange blood pumping through their body.

The OP and others are totally PATHETIC because they do NOT even consider the kids playing for us all especially our SENIORS that are for the most part playing their LAST games of football ever.

Many of our Seniors have been loving and playing football since their per wee days and they LOVE football and they want to play in a bowl game even if it's the Music City Bowl or anywhewre else because for 99% of them it WILL be their very LAST time to ever strap on the shoulder pads and pull a jersey on over their heads and have 1 last chance to play the game they love and have worked so hard to be a team member.

Friday night I went to my sons playoff game and we lost.

After the game most of the Seniors were crying and NOT because they lost the playoff game.

Those Seniors in high school were crying their eyes out because they know they will NEVER again play football on any team.

Just like most Seniors on our beloved Vols team know that after the last game this year they will NEVER again play on any football team and that rips their hearts out.

The coaches really don't matter because they have money and they all will coach again but NOT our Senior players.

You should ALWAYS cheer on our Vols and hope for a Win every gameday and fill Neyland because of our KIDS out on the field and NOT because you like or dislike any coaches.

IMO hoping our Vols will lose any game is pathetic, immature, classless and showing total disregard for the kids on the field giving their all for us little fans to have a nice day while they're getting beat up and going through alot of pain.

Thank God that I'm old and mature enough to understand the feelings of the kids and to understand that the bottomline is that it's a damn GAME no matter how much we love our Vols and want to Win every game.

I also have zero doubts that all that want Tennessee to ever lose a game have never been on a team, strapped on the pads or pulled a jersey over their heads and has to face the reality of the last game of their Senior year that their football playing days were GONE forever and how much that really hurts.

Do NOT ever try to tell me you're a fan because the ONLY think you care about is your own personal enjoyment and bragging rights but you sure as hell do NOT care a damn thing about our players on the field and THOSE are the kids we should all be really caring about.

I actually pity you people that feel that way and care nothing about the kids that give so much because you're obviously very shallow people with no real integrity and the priorities that are totally backwards and completely classless.

Times like these makes it hard to wear my Tennessee Orange and admit that I love my Vols no matter what and it's these so-called fans that makes it the toughest, not losing games which I totally hate.

VFL...GBO!!!

Post of the year!!

I'm not happy we lost. I had my wife's family at the game and their Mizzou fans. I'm glad they went to sleep in the car on the way home

How can you root for a vols loss and call yourself a fan.

YOU CANT!! If you wan't Dooley gone, knock yourself out. I am not gonna get on here and be glad that CP, Justin Hunter, Tyler Bray, Magitt, and these guys lose. Dooleys fate has already been decided. The Mizzou loss or a Mizzou win had no bearing on his future. He WILL be back next year. Get over it.

Got to be careful with this. There are still players giving it their all that deserve better.

i was pulling against them all the way, i hope they lose out. im sure that wont be too hard the way the d has been playing though. not to mention that they cant beat anybody that plays in the sec...i think thats the plan, dooley knows he cant cut it and ever since they cut his assistants last year hes just hanging around till someone cuts him a 5 mil check. or he can keep drawing a yearly check till his contract runs out. either way hes just there for the money and he clearly has no interest in whether we win or lose because the little stupid mistakes like always having too many men on the field during special team play would have been corrected a long time ago. eventually he will be gone its just a matter of how long us fans will have to suffer before someone decides to pull the trigger

Best post of the thread. Dooley is a lawyer, and lawyers only want the quick buck no matter the means to getting it.

People here are exaggerating the "negative" impact of 1 loss way too much.

It's not like this is their last game. We still have Kentucky (a HOME game) and Vanderbilt to finish off on a good note for the kids themselves.

But as for the loss, this was necessary. If we finished 3-0, there is a very HIGH chance that we probably would have finished 7-5 and retained Dooley. Horrible horrible coach would have been given a 4th year because technically 7-5 was an "improvement" over 6-7 and 5-7 of previous seasons.

We avoided this because we lost. I'm not saying we should call up every Tennessee football player and say "HURRAY FOR THE LOSS!!!", but let's not be in denial here. This loss is VERY beneficial for Tennessee football. I compare it to the Colts fans acknowledging the benefit of losing their last game for the #1 draft pick. Now they have an amazing QB who will bring them 10 years of success.

I hate what this loss does to the fans and, more importantly, the players. Those guys played their asses off for an idiot who has been coaching out the string since MS ST IMO.

I love what this loss did to the future of Dooley. No more maybe's and it did push even the most ardent Dooley fan over the edge yesterday. Hopefully, the " he took over a mess and deserves five years to rebuild" crowd will now STFU.

I don't think you guys get the OP's logic. He's not actively rooting against Tennessee as some have claimed. Think of it as a relative with cancer. You hope they survive but once it becomes apparent they're not going to live and you still hold out some sort of hope they will survive, you are relieved they're no longer suffering once they've passed. This loss absolutely without a doubt guarantees that Dooley is not coming back next year. So in hindsight we can appreciate the loss and look forward to 10 win seasons someday - a feat dooley wouldn't have pulled off in 10 years

If we wouldn't have had an irrational AD hire him or irrational fans who still don't know he should be fired, we wouldn't get so far into the feelings that losing the game may well be what's best for the program.

It's not to convince me or other negavols that Dooley needs to go. It seems required to convince irrational Dooley supporters that the job is just way over his head.

Nothing personal.

GBO! :hi:

You disgust me, your a selfish piece of crap. I know some the young men on this team, along with their family. You would pull against our boys because your too ignorant to know the outcome of this game was irrelevant to Dooley's future at TN. Dooley's fate was already sealed. He wasn't going to be back no matter who won this game.

I understand it just fine. You NEVER root against the VOLS.

Even after the worst firing ever, CPF, I would never root against the VOLS. You are either with us...or against us. Time for the pikers to leave the game.

This is why it makes sense sometimes to just announce he's done. That way, we can all give it our all without fear of being strapped with a losing coach... for winning games we obviously should win.

The same people that were calling to fire the coach after the Miss st. game are the same ones saying they would never root against the vols. If you fire a coach it is almost certain you will loose more games as the year goes on. The fans that were hoping for a loss are no different than the ones calling for firing before the season ends. either way, buckle your chin straps boys cause its going to get ugly. Lets hope we can win out and our new coach take us to a bowl victory.
