Yep. We need to be 1 game better than Bama. We can be 1 game worse than UF and Houston though, at least imo.If we win and they lose tomorrow, yes. More importantly, we need to beat them next Saturday. The reason they are still ahead of us, albeit barely, is their SOS, which is #2. Both teams have 8 Quad 1 wins.
Nothing on the internet so far. I'll keep a check on that, tho. Called my neighbor who is actually the one that can usually get some info, but he couldn't get a hold of his source. Left a message, tho. It's so late and the game so early we might not find anything until game time.that would be great man, we could use some inside info
I was hoping they may be the ones to give Houston another loss. Texas Tech probably our only hope now. They beat them once already this year, but it's tough to get a sweep. I don't think Kansas or Baylor have anything for them but that Baylor game is at least in Waco.It seems Iowa State will be missing their 2 best scorers so Houston should win that one. You never know of course.
Yeah, that is problematic. If Houston has 2 losses fewer than us they’ll get the nod over us.I was hoping they may be the ones to give Houston another loss. Texas Tech probably our only hope now. If we win them all a 1 is a lock. If we lose 1 we might need a little help from Houston, Bama and/or Florida. I think we would still be a 1 but my confidence goes from 100% at 5-0 to 70% at 4-1. Lose 2 and odds are we’re a 2. I’d say there’s about a 5% chance of a 1 seed then.Feels like they are all must wins the rest of the way if we’re going to get a 1 seed. With the closing stretch we have, I don’t see that happening. Realistically, a 3-2 close would be acceptable and likely puts us safely on the 2 line.
We can’t be the #2 seed in the South (Atlanta) unless we’re the 5th highest ranked SEC team on the S-Curve. The first four teams from a conference have to be placed in four different regions and Auburn has all but locked up the #1 seed in the South. If Illinois could do anything with Duke tonight that would help, but is a good common opponent barometer.
Selfishly, I'd rather be a 2 seed in Atlanta than a 1 seed in San Francisco
This, I think 1 more SEC gets a 1 seed and Houston or Purdue slide in and stela the last one. Purdue is in the best position. They play Michigan State then no one else of consequence until their conference tourney. Houston has a pretty bumpy ending but if they win out they will definitely be in play.
The SEC teams have to play each other then probably face each other again in the tourney.
Oof.....that Purdue #1 Seed projection.
Why do you have Houston ahead of us when the selection committee has us ranked ahead of them?I still think it comes down to FL or TN. Which one ends up with the better record the next games will get a #1 seed. If we tie, you give nod to FL.
If Bama loses to FL and/or TN they’ll slide out and will get replaced by Houston. That would leave:
1Auburn
1Duke
1Houston
1FL or TN

2FL or TN
2Bama
